Dr. David Minkoff, M.D

Optimum Health: "A person whose body is in excellent condition, with plentiful energy and freedom from pain. The body of a person with optimum health should be able to deal with routine environmental stressors without breaking down, and should be able to recover quickly after physical insults. It should allow a person trouble free performance so that he or she can enjoy the maximum lifespan of his or her genetic endowment." — Dr. David Minkoff

Health is not a static state — it is determined by the daily lifestyle choices you make and the inherited strengths and weaknesses of your body. All individuals have their own unique optimum health for their body. This optimum state is a condition that can be measured by both objective and subjective indicators.

Dr. David Minkoff's Story

Dr. David Minkoff graduated from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in 1974 and was elected to the “Phi Beta Kappa” of medical schools, the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Medical Fraternity for very high academic achievement.  He then completed both a Pediatric Residency and Fellowship in Infectious Disease at the University of California at San Diego .

He worked at the University of California and Children's Hospitals in San Diego as an attending physician in infectious disease while conducting original research on Ribaviron, a broad spectrum anti-viral agent to fight disease. He also co-directed a neo-natal intensive care unit and worked in emergency medicine.

In 1995, his wife became ill, and her physicians couldn't find what was wrong. Not accepting their "no hope" conclusion, Dr. Minkoff went on a search to help her that led him out of emergency medicine into complementary and alternative medicine to find the answers.

The answers he found were soon in demand when others learned of her return to good health. He and his wife established Lifeworks Wellness Center, a complementary and alternative medicine clinic, in 1997.

The demand for the products and protocols he discovered became a catalyst for founding BodyHealth.Com, a nutrition company that now manufactures and distributes these cutting-edge solutions for the many health problems today. Dr. Minkoff writes two free online newsletters, “The Optimum Health Report” and ”The BodyHealth Fitness Newsletter”, to help others learn about optimum health and fitness.

Physician, Lecturer, Radio Guest/Host

Today Dr. David Minkoff, M.D., is a complementary and alternative healthcare expert, guest lecturer, writer, radio show guest and former radio show host with 30 years of experience helping patients with aches, pains, and other illnesses return to health.

LifeWorks Wellness Center

In 1997 Dr. Minkoff founded LifeWorks Wellness Center, one of the most comprehensive complementary and alternative medicine clinics in the U.S. Located in Clearwater, Florida, LifeWorks offers a myriad of cutting-edge therapies and modalities to treat patients all under the same roof.

Dr. Minkoff's Philosophy

From his experience with patients, Dr. Minkoff believes there are three main causes of illness: nutritional deficiencies, toxins, and allergies. Almost every illness can be attributed to one of these three causes. Helping patients overcome these illnesses, he developed the "Path to Optimum Health," a series of unique steps individuals can take to optimize their body systems and return to health naturally, without drugs.

Health & Fitness Newsletters

In addition to journal articles and speaking engagements, Dr. Minkoff writes a weekly Optimum Health Report and a bi-weekly BodyHealth Newsletter to empower individuals about their health.
